Mohanlal in 'Arat' hits theaters on February 10
Out in cinemas February tenth, the much talked about Mohanlal film 'Aratt' arrives with quiet buzz. Not just another show, it’s something people can actually go see on the big screen, says Unnikrishnan, backing the claim. Following Big Brother from late last year, this marks Mohanlal’s next proper return to theater halls. A gap closes. Another chapter opens without fanfare.
In 'Aratti', Mohanlal steps into the shoes of a character named Neyyattinkara Gopan. Comedy drives the story forward, yet bursts of action pop up now and then. Behind the camera, Unnikrishnan shapes the visuals while Udayakrishna crafts the words. A sleek black Benz appears on screen, tied closely to Mohanlal’s presence. That car carries the number 2255 - not random at all, but a quiet nod to a famous line: "My phone number is 2255" from The King's Son.
Shraddha Srinath takes on the lead role here. Alongside her appear Nedumudi Venu, then come Saikumar, Siddique, followed by Vijayaraghavan, Johnny Antony stepping in, Indrans making an appearance, plus Raghavan, Nandu, Biju Pappan, Sheela joining later, Swastika moving through scenes, Malavika appearing briefly, ending with Rachana Narayanankutty closing that circle. Behind the lens, Vijay Ulakanath handles camera duties while Sameer Mohammad pieces it together frame by frame as editor. Sound unfolds through music shaped by Rahul Raj. Joseph Nellikal builds worlds visually via art direction. Clothes take shape under Steffi Xavier’s costume design choices.
