Mahima started her acting career at the age of 15 with the Malayalam film Karyasthan and later worked as an advertising model. It was at that time that director Sami Sindhu was invited for the film Samaveli. But Mahima rejected it for personal reasons. The Sattai production team then recommended Mahima. Sattai Mahima's first Tamil film. While studying for Plus Two, Mahima starred in the first film, Arivazhagi, in which she played the lead role. After Sattai, she took a break to complete her education.

She has also acted in four Tamil films. Exodus 150 for Ahat. Mahima Samudrakani has signed on for a double role in the movie Kitana. She played the lead role in Mammootty's Madhura Raja. Mahima made her acting debut in Kutram 23. She entered the film industry with the Tamil film Mahima Sattai (2012). The film tells the story of a school and a teacher in a village.

Mahima Nambiar mainly acts in Tamil and Malayalam. Mahima's hometown is Kasaragod. She graduated with a BA in English in 2014. Mahima is a classical dancer and singer.
