Water flows down slopes under the influence of gravity. As a result, earth’s surface water runs off the land as mountain streams, which join to form larger rivers that carve out valleys as they flows down to wards the sea.the more powerful the flow of the river, the more loose sediment, such as mud and sand, it can carry. World’s longest rivers the nile is the world’s longest river, stretching for 6,650km (4,130ml). the amazon, although not as long, carries more water –about one –fifth of all the riverwater on earth.
Winding river
Where rivers flows slowing over low-lying land, and are not hemmed in by valleys, their channels bend sideways into curve known as meanders.
