Grasshopper

Grasshopper

The grasshopper is a large, powerful hind-legged insect. Their favorite food is young grass and leaves. They are found in grasses and are called grasshoppers because they jump from one place to another. They jump with the strength of their hind legs. The grasshopper can jump a distance of one or two meters in a single jump. They are also known as vitiligo and green algae.

The resemblance to the color of the plants helps them to escape the attack of enemy birds. Grasshoppers are brown and green, similar to soil and dry grass. It is estimated that there are 20,000 species of grasshoppers on Earth.
